When I was a little girl in the 50's & 60's I watched my mother at her sewing machine. She made clothes for me and fancy party dresses for my little dolls. I think this is when my interest in beautiful fabrics started. In the early 70's I made my first quilt (tied quilt) with just plain blue & green calico squares. The fabric selection at that time was not the greatest. Fabric was purchased in department stores rather than quilt shops. A few years later I found a quilt shop & took my first quilting class with my mother & my aunt & made my second quilt which was a sampler quilt. I continued to make quilts off and on while I was working full time when I could find the time. Since I retired from full time work in the late 1990's & had more time to devote to quilting, I became interested in designing my own patterns. In January of 2003 my pattern company, Berryvine Designs, was born. My main "style" is traditional & vintage but every so often I take a break from that & do something bright and bold just for fun. I love all things "vintage" from fabrics & quilts to antiques & even classic cars. In 2005 my first book "Quick & Easy Romantic Quilts" by Leisure Arts was published. I also added a line of apparel & gift items through Cafe Press In 2007 I began making mixed media/altered art designs & have been published in various Somerset Publications.
I have as much creating these vintage collage designs as I do quilts! Sandy
